When I arrive at a [shape] that pleases me it always happens unexpectedly. It emerges as a totally different image from what I envisioned at the start, as if to invalidate my process up to that point. I find this to be an interesting aspect of drawing - that it sometimes outgrows my original plan or idea. (2010)
